The mission of the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (Agència per a la Qualitat del SistemaUniversitari de Catalunya/AQU Catalunya) is to safeguard the standards and improve the quality of higher education in Catalonia. For this purpose it engages in different activities, including carrying out survey studies on recent graduates and the organisations that recruit them. This enables the external viewpoint of quality to be incorporated into decision-making in institutions across the higher education system in Catalonia. Through collaboration with the Fundació “la Caixa”, AQU Catalunya makes objective information available to the university community (and other actors) on the skills needed in the labour market, thereby enabling better educational and training provision.
